Disposable Glove Outlook for 2021

meAs we enter into a new year, many people are wondering when reprieve will come in regards to the effects of COVID-19. For the disposable glove industry, it’s looking like the first portion of 2021 will be very similar to what we saw in 2020 when it comes to high levels of demand and low levels of supply.

Many glove manufacturers are still working to increase their production capabilities, but the reality is that it just takes time to scale production to the magnitude that is currently needed.

There are many factors that play into the extreme demand disposable gloves have been receiving, but one factor is the sheer prevalence of disposable gloves. No longer are disposable gloves reserved for medical workers or employees in a restaurant. Every day citizens are using disposable gloves regularly as they go about their everyday tasks in order to protect themselves from germs.

Due to the increase in demand by consumers, we’ve seen disposable gloves move from the back of the store, a lesser item, to the prime real estate of check out areas. The increased awareness of hygiene will likely keep disposable gloves at the forefront of many peoples minds for the foreseeable future.

Many experts are predicting that by the 3rd quarter of 2021 we will begin to see the glove market stabilize, due mainly to the assumption that the majority of people will be vaccinated by that time.
